Akuma Vs...Japan

The being dragged himself across the ground. His green skin and ogre-like face were covered in blood. Worst of all, it was his own. His left arm was gone and through his chest - a glowing, blue sword. "Wh-What is your purpose...?" The God asked his attacker weakly, ceasing his escape. It would prove to be his mistake.
As the nigh-killer stepped onto his knee, the God felt every bone in his leg snap from the applied pressure. He yelled in pain, immediately regretting his decision to face his opponent. The man took one more step forwards, forcing the weight of his body onto the foot which crushed the God's leg. In return, he yelped in pain yet again. "You gods are all the same..." The man finally began speaking, his voice deep like thunder.
"Corrupted by greed, selfish and cowardly." His hands grabbed the sword's handle. "I thought Zeus and the others would be a lesson to all of you... I was wrong."
"N-NO--"
Before the

The lifeless body of a Samurai fell onto the ground, a cloud of dirt being knocked up by the impact. The empty eyes of the warrior were stuck looking up into the sky. However, it was a mere dream for even his soul to go there. Because, to put it simply, it was destroyed.

"Worthless..." A grim voice muttered, throwing another corpse to the side.

Podobny obraz

The symbol on his back glowed as the very life essence of the warrior was demolished. The demon's footsteps were heard as he walked along the road, completely untouched by his deeds. His eyes tracked a multitude of black rooftops, decorated with lanterns, the red edges of the buildings being illuminated. Calmly and surely, he was approaching the town.

Akuma has come to Tokyo.

Archers observed the oncoming demon, hiding behind the stone walls protecting their city. They pulled the strings of their bows, taking aim at the unnaturally calm target. "準備する!!" The Captain shouted in his language, raising his sword. The archers, obeying his orders, aimed their arrows into the sky. Akuma stopped and watched.

"リリース!" In mere moments, every single archer on the wall let go of the string. A legion of arrows escaped their grasp. As the projectiles pierced through the air, Akuma saw as the very Sun was covered by the barrage. The hundreds of whistles caused by missiles charging upwards replaced the silence. And then...

The arrows started falling. Their sharp and deadly noses dived down, the force of gravity pulling it down.

Hundreds of arrows headed straight at the ground.

Their target, however, was one man.

The arrows were getting closer and closer. The archers, still in their combat positions, saw a spark of hope.

But Akuma only scoffed. "Pathetic." He raised his hand into the air, as if he was trying to touch the stars. In his open palm, mysterious energy began building up, forming a red fireball.

AKuma sekia by DeathBattleDino

The ball of energy began expanding as the arrows were getting dangerously near. The eyes of each and every single one of Tokyo's defenders widened in shock as the ball grew twice the size of the Demon himself. The arrows, now barely visible from Akuma's point of view, were meters away. The Street Fighter swung his arm back, uttering only two words. "Sekia Kuretsuha!" Then, he slammed the ball of flames into the ground.

For a moment, an extraordinarily long second, nothing happened. As Akuma's ball of energy dug itself into the ground, the archer's projectiles made their way even closer to their target. The soldiers' eyes lit up as they saw their chance. But, suddenly...

A pillar of fire erupted from the ground.

BOOM!

Consuming every single arrow on its way up, the Sekia Kerutsuha formed an unpenetrable barrier of pure energy between the archers of Tokyo and Akuma. The arrows themselves - the steel, wood and animal feathers used for the fletching - were evaporated. Nothing left but memories. As the pillar extended to hundreds of meters, the defenders knew their only chance has just been wasted. Fear entered their hearts.

The technique slowly calmed itself, the improvised barrier fell back down into the very hole it created. Behind it, stood Akuma, his arms crossed, and his eyes inspecting the city's defenders. "I expected a challenge..." He said. Even though he was a good distance away, the fighters still somehow heard his words perfectly. "Allow me to show you..." His words stormed through the archers' minds like thunder. Too scared to even move, they helplessly watched as Akuma's aura served its master.

Akuma Might by DeathBattleDino

"TRUE MIGHT!"

"GOHADOKEN!" Akuma finally yelled, as his aura gathered itself in his palms in the blink of an eye. Swinging his arms forward, Akuma released the projectile made of pure energy, dwarfing him in size. And it was coming straight at the city. The defenders, panicking, started screaming and shouting, jumping down from their positions, running away and knocking down their fellow soldiers. But even as they tried to escape, it was simply no use.

As the Gohadoken crashed into the concrete, the resulting force sent pebbles and larger rocks flying from the other side. Those unfortunate enough to stay in the blast were immediately ripped to shred, their bodies brutally exploding as their insides suddenly appeared on the outside. Their motionless bodies fell onto the roofs of their houses, painting them with their crimson blood. A hole appeared in the wall - wide for 10 meters.

The Captain, coughing, stood up. He looked around, seeing his soldiers run and hide. "ここに戻って! 臆病者!" He shouted, squeezing his katana blade. In the corner of his eye, he spotted something moving. Something orange. He turned his head to examine.

Fire. An inferno spread onto the vulnerable buildings of the city. At the base of the nearby house? A lone fire pit, originally placed on the defensive walls. Now turned against the city it was supposed to help protect.

"Perhaps you?" He heard a voice behind himself. He turned, his katana prepared for battle. It was him. The man who was responsible for all this. His black gi being pale when compared to the darkness of his soul. His eyes glowed red as he put his foot down, displaying his combat posture.

The Captain, despite his fear, stood like a diamond wall. "悪魔!私は降伏しません!" He shouted, his blade shining in the sunlight. Akuma responded with two words.

"Prove it."

The samurai, determination within his soul, yelled as he charged at the demon. He raised his katana, ready to slice it down onto his opponent. Akuma's palms clenched into fists as he pulled one of them back. The Captain aimed his swing...

"GO-"

The samurai suddenly felt immense pain in his stomach. His weapon nearly reached the Demon's head. The only issue was, Akuma was faster. Blood escaped from his mouth as he watched helplessly as Akuma clenched his second, free fist.

"-SHORYUKEN!"

Akuma's fist rushed straight into his opponent's jaw. For a moment, the Captain heard his bones shattering on impact. But, in the next second, he didn't feel anything anymore. As the Demon's Shoryuken threw the samurai into the air, blood gushed out from the top of his head. Akuma leaped alongside the opponent, constantly applying pressure. Until, finally, it popped. The opponent's head exploded under the pressure of Akuma's blows, sending blood, brains and sharp pieces of bone everywhere. The Captain's existence, erased.

Akuma landed on his feet, the enemy's body crashing down next to him with a loud THUMP!. The Demon looked down at the corpse, disgusted. "Weaklings." He muttered. "Is there no one in all of Japan who can challenge me?!" He yelled, his place being slowly consumed by flames.

It was at that moment that the city's inhabitants understood what happened, from the distant flames and shouting defenders.

The wall of Tokyo has fallen.

The screams of both soldiers and civilians could be heard as a silhouette started walking straight through the fire.

Akuma Flames by DeathBattleDino

The pale man stood at the edge of the temple. His eyes directed at the clouds surrounding the mysterious building. His attention was redirected as he heard footsteps behind himself. "Is it time, Raijin?" He asked the God of Thunder, who simply nodded.

"Yes. However, there is one thing I need to show you first." The Spartan turned around, raising an eyebrow. In Raijin's hand glowed a transparent ball. Unsure of its origins, Kratos spoke.

"What is that?" To which the God respectfully responded.

"This... Is my life essence. Not all of it, obviously. But enough to assist you." Kratos crossed his arms.

"How so?" Raijin took a few steps forward, getting closer to the Warrior, carefully inspecting the ball in his palm.

"It will grant you the powers you have gained and lost throughout your journey. It will give you the power to defeat Akuma." The Spartan, to nobody's surprise, didn't believe the God of Thunder.

"How? How do you possess the power to give me back what Zeus stole from me?" He asked. Raijin chuckled.

"That is not for you to worry." His voice deeper than usual, he let Kratos know that that conversation was over. Kratos, with no reason to trust the God, grunted. The Japanese God walked up to him and placed his free hand on his shoulder. "This might hurt." He said, before pushing the ball of energy straight into the Spartan's chest. His eyes widened as a shout of agony emerged from his throat. Raijin's energy flew through him, reaching his very fingertips as the Ghost of Sparta felt his very life force gaining power.

Kratos staggered and took a few steps back, kneeling and supporting himself with his arm. He looked back up at Raijin and rushed at him, enraged. "What have you done?!" He shouted, raising his arm to grab the God. However, before he could reach him, a lightning bolt shot from the sky, absorbing the God. A moment later, he reappeared in another flash of lightning behind Kratos.

"Be calm, Kratos." His voice rang through the White Warrior's mind as he attempted to calm his nerves. "I have merely given you your lost power." Kratos turned around.

"Why should I believe you?" Raijin chuckled.

"Test it." He simply muttered. And as the Kami ordered, so has Kratos done. He swung his arms back, attempting to summon whatever power he has received. In his hands, weapons started materializing, spawning out of nothingness. The Spartan, noticing this, walked around Raijin to give himself space.

"It can't be..." He said under his breath, the tone of his voice clearly indicated his shock. His fists suddenly dropped, as they appeared inside large, metallic gauntlets with lion heads as their knuckles. Kratos punched the air, knocking one of the lion heads forward. The chain connected to the head dragged it back inside of the gauntlet momentarily. The Spartan spun around, revealing another weapon - a large, violet blade, once given to him by Artemis. He swung the weapon around, slashing through the air multiple times before stabbing it into the ground. As the Blade disappeared, new weapons manifested themselves in his hands - a pair of three-clawed claws, black like the darkest shadow, attached to his forearms. Kratos threw the weapons and crossed his arms, the soul-reapers floating around him like a protective barrier, ready to cut through anyone unfortunate enough to get too close.

Finally, Kratos caught the two Blades as they vanished like the weapons before them. "Hercules' Gauntlets..." He began, still in disbelief. "Artemis' Blade, Hades' Claws." He turned around to face Raijin once more. "How?" He asked, yet to no avail.

"As I said, it doesn't matter." The Kami responded with the same firmness as before. "What matters is that now you have the power to face Akuma." He walked up to Kratos. "And so, to save your son." The General gritted his teeth in response to the reminiscence. "Go, Ghost of Sparta. Defeat the Raging Demon. Prove yourself and come back victorious." As he finished, Kratos simply nodded.

"If you attempt to cross me, Raijin... I will not hold myself back." The God of War finally said, before the Kami moved his arm in a magical gesture. From the sky, a lightning bolt shot down, straight onto Kratos' position. A moment later, the Spartan was gone. In his place, merely smoke coming off of the spot he was standing.

Fire.
Fire is all Kratos saw as he marched forward. Pillars of flame covering the entire city. Tokyo was in ruin. The Spartan stomped heavily across the ground, with each step getting closer to the fiery inferno. The cape formed by his brown shawl flapped in the wind as he pulled down his hood. He growled at the sight. His feet continued making their way through the grassy ground... That is, until they came across a small, round field, in which grass was not present. Kratos squinted his eyes, still feeling the heat coming off of the ground within the circle.

"助けて..." His head suddenly turned forward as he heard the quiet cry of agony in the direction of the city. His eyes quickly spotted the source of the noise. A beaten soldier, dragging himself across the ground. The Spartan grunted as he walked up to the Samurai. The Japanese warrior noticed that something suddenly covered the light of the Sun and looked up as he noticed pale feet in front of himself. "お願いします... 助けて..." He reached out to Kratos, hoping the Spartan would help him up.

However, this was none of his concern. Instead of grabbing the Samurai's arm, he grabbed his neck and picked him up. The soldier, terrified, widened his eyes and stared right into Kratos' own. "Where is Akuma?!" The soldier, panicking, started screaming gibberish in Japanese. None of which could Kratos understand. "Stop babbling, fool!" He shouted right into the soldier's face. However, this did not help, as the Samurai only started speaking louder and faster.

Just as the Spartan was about to send a punch into the victim's gut, a distant explosion distracted him. His head turned by a few degrees, just next to the burning city. The explosion was gone as quickly as it appeared, but Kratos knew exactly where it came from. Throwing the Samurai aside, the Spartan started walking off, knowing exactly where to head next. The Samurai, attempting to pick himself up, yelled at Kratos again.

"NO...! AKUMA..." He began, his heavy accent making it difficult for the Spartan to understand his words. "AKUMA... MONSTER-" He would never finish his sentence as the Blades of Exile penetrated his skull.

A single pair of footsteps made their way through the forest. Next to their path, mangled bodies of Japanese troops lying next to or under massive tree trunks. The Sun went down, leaving only the Moon to shine down on Earth. Corpses began piling up on each other, the forest taking the appearance of Hell itself. The newcomer, however, didn't care. He marched through the horrifying imagery in the search for only one person. He stopped in his tracks as he saw the forest coming to an end.

Before him was now a large and empty field, no tree or piece of grass covering it. Well, empty, if he was to ignore the large temple in the middle... Alongside dozens of corpses.

The Spartan observed as the already overwhelming number of Japanese soulless bodies began rising, the grey ground barely being visible below them. In the middle, however, there was an empty circle. An ideal circle, with no corpse touching it. And in the middle?

"...Akuma."

The Demon's eyes widened as he heard his name being called. "I've sensed your ki, warrior." He began. "You appear much more powerful than these weaklings..." He turned his head back, inspecting every inch of the newcomer. "Tell me... Who are you?"

The Spartan's patience, although it was a mere few moments, has run out. "I AM KRATOS!" He yelled, squeezing the Blades of Exile in his fists. "I HAVE COME HERE TO DESTROY YOU, AKUMA! YOUR PATHETIC EXISTENCE WILL COME TO AN END!" He continued. Akuma returned to his original pose, growling.

"Your anger fuels you... Good." The Demon ignored Kratos' threats. "Perhaps, if your ki speaks for you correctly, you may be a worthy foe." He stood up. Now, Kratos saw the Raging Demon in his full glory. His black gi covered his chest, yet his muscular arms were free, revealing themselves to the outside world. As Akuma turned around, the wind brushed against his red hair. His expression was filled with wrath. But, at the same time, he was calm.

"I am Akuma..."  Suddenly, he stomped the ground, putting himself in his combat stance. "...And I will teach you the meaning of pain!" His eyes lit up as he finished his sentence. His position was steady, prepared for his opponent to make a move. "...If you are worth my time." Kratos simply scoffed.

"You threaten me, Demon? You DARE to insult me?!" The Spartan shouting, walking straight through the sea of corpses. Sounds of bones breaking replaced the silence as crimson red liquid covered his feet. "I AM KRATOS! I WAS THE GREATEST WARRIOR OF SPARTA! I KILLED ZEUS! I DESTROYED OLYMPUS! YOU ARE NOTHING!" His march finished as he entered the circle within the field, now facing Akuma. They stood merely a few meters away from each other. "...And you will not see the end of this day!" His war cry shook the ground... But his opponent stood in his place, unaffected.

The Ghost of Sparta leaped forwards as a ball of energy appeared in Akuma's palm.

They both knew perfectly that only one of them would live after this encounter.

Akuma Vs Kratos Fight 2 by DeathBattleDino

Episode One

Wrathful Demon against Fallen God

Akuma jumped to the side, watching as Kratos' weapons slam against the ground. He raised his left hand and slammed the newly-formed Gohadoken straight into the Spartan's back. Kratos yelled in pain before being thrown forwards by his opponent. He staggered, struggling to regain his balance. His feet practically stabbed into the ground, keeping his posture straight. With a scoff, Kratos swung his arms, chains erupting from the Blades' hilts and sending the edges towards the Demon.

Scoffing, Akuma raised his leg. In a moment, Akuma slid across the ground to the side, leaving afterimages in his original place. Kratos' blades pierced thin air as his foe teleported away. Deciding not to fall for such a trick, the General screamed as he swung the Blades to the left, aiming for Akuma. Gouki, unable to predict the move, felt as two swords pierced his skin. He let out a yelp of pain as blood rained down from the two wounds, tearing apart his muscles even more. Kratos pulled the weapons back, his Blades of Exile finding their place back in the hilts.

Akuma touched his wounds with his palm and inspected it. He grunted. "You are indeed powerful..." He complimented his foe. "...But you will still perish!" The God of War, in response, bashed his Blades against each other, watching as golden lightning covered the weapon. Both yelled as they charged towards the opponent.

Kratos swung his Blades, yet his movement was slow enough to give the Demon an opening. His feet were no longer touching the ground as he began spinning in the air like a whirlwind. The Ghost of Sparta felt as the martial artist's heel smashed against his cheek not even a second after his leap. In the very next moment, Kratos felt his body spinning mid-air, struggling to regain control as he started falling down to the ground. Before he could even think about doing anything, however, Akuma widened his stance as both his hands lit on fire. Immediately, he pulled back both of his arms, which then shot in the direction of the mid-air Spartan, releasing a blast of flames. The Fallen God felt his skin burning as the blast of ki sent him flying across the dead bodies lying on the ground, setting them on fire as well.

Kratos practically bounced off of one of the corpses, allowing him to land on his feet. As he regained his stance, he realized that the clothes and skin of the dead Samurai were engulfed in flames. Shrugging the blows off, he eyed his weapons, still covered in lightning, before looking back at Akuma. He pointed one of his Blades at the Demon, who stopped in his tracks after taking a few steps. For a moment, the two stood in silence. That is, until Kratos' weapon shot a stream of yellow energy straight at his enemy. His speed not failing him, Akuma rolled to the side, just barely avoiding the blast. He touched the tip of his head, feeling a shock going through his hair. Right in front of his eyes, he was a single strand of his red hair falling down onto the ground. He stood back up, not wasting time on such a worthless loss.

The Demon cleanly leaped over the attack, avoiding any damage. He landed on his feet and immediately continued running towards his opponent. Noticing this, the Spartan tilted his blade, the blast of lightning slightly changing its position, following the martial artist's position. Adapting to the situation, the Master of the Fist leaped into the air, obliterating the torso of the Samurai that was unfortunate enough to die in that exact spot. As he was in the air, Kratos failed to adjust his aim before Akuma pulled back his hands, purple energy building up between them.

"Messatsu Gohado! The Street Fighter yelled, his eyes lighting up as he threw the ball of energy towards the Fallen God. Kratos, seeing this, was forced to dodge the attack, rolling to the side as the lightning bolt disappeared, its source gone. The powered-up Gohadoken hit the ground behind him, blowing up multiple corpses of deceased Japanese soldiers, pieces of their bodies flying into the air from the blast. Kratos' sight quickly made its way to where his opponent was a moment ago. However, Akuma was now on the ground, speeding towards the Spartan. Gouki's right palm shifted into a fist, as the arm pulled back for a punch. The Mortal noticed this just a bit too late, feeling his head being knocked back by the impact of the blow.

The Demon delivered a swift kick to the Warrior's stomach before following the blow with a jump. He aimed his fist straight for Kratos' face, who realized what his opponent was going for. He took a step back as Akuma, missing his attack, instead hit the head of yet another unfortunate Samurai, crushing his skull in a fraction of a second. He jumped yet again, this time at a slight angle back, as he saw the general preparing his Blades for another attack. The weapons cut through nothingness, the Demon barely avoiding their strike. He performed a backflip, landing on his feet with surprising grace, before grabbing Kratos by the shoulder. Kratos, slightly confused, roared as he pulled his head back for a headbutt. Before the attack could land, however, Akuma took a step forward, placing his foot right between Kratos' own and struck his foe's gut with his palm in the very next moment.

The Spartan grunted as he was pushed back by the blow. However, Akuma was far from done. He entered a crouching position and pulled back his fist, his grunt turning into a roar while doing so. The God Slayer, still stunned by the Street Fighter's previous attack saw as his opponent's palm, followed by strange, black energy was headed straight for his chest. The impact threw Kratos back as air escaped his lungs through his gritted teeth. The Demon, his expression staying as stoical as ever, decided to continue his assault.

His first blow struck the Spartan's jaw, saliva finding the spot to leave its owner's mouth. Akuma raised his leg, his knee hitting the Cursed Mortal's side just below his ribs, before hopping on his second leg and using it to deliver another blow straight to the middle of the soldier's ribcage. The White Warrior staggered back, dazed from the assault. At that moment of weakness, Akuma began hovering in the air, spinning like a windmill. "Tatsumaki Zankukyaku!" As he spun around, his heel repeatedly hit Kratos in the cheek, forming a purple wound on the injured skin. After several seconds of this strangely effective attack, the Street Fighter dropped to the ground, pulling back his fist. This time, the blow was aimed straight into Kratos' jaw, sending the God Slayer into the air. Akuma leaped after his victim, performing a flip as his momentum suddenly came to a stop. In that same second, he started falling, but diagonally instead of straight down, headed for Kratos with his foot extended. The Demon somehow seemed to go through his target, yet the blow still landed, throwing the Fallen God downwards. As soon as Akuma landed, a purple ball started forming between his palms, his ki forming in one spot. He took a step back, creating a crack in the ground, as he released the ball of energy at the mid-air Spartan.

Struck again, Kratos was shot away by the blast, rolling on his side for a moment before picking himself up to a crouch. To his surprise, he felt heat practically all around his body. That is when he decided to look around. The flame, originating from a single Samurai body, quickly spread onto other corpses due to their flammable clothing. The two fighter's arena was essentially closed off by the fire, preventing them from leaving unless someone gets burned. Somewhere in a close distance, a tree collapsed as flames rose up to the sky alongside the impact. The surrounding forest catching on fire.

As Kratos continued to look around, he summoned a golden spear with a purple tip and stabbed its blunt side into the ground. This was the Spear of Destiny, its crystal shining in the moonlight, the tips of flames surrounding Kratos dancing in the reflecting crystal. The Spartan's attention was turned away from the fire by a vicious yell, coming from in front of him. He saw the Street Fighter running straight at him, with his fist pulled behind his back. Noticing this, he spun the Spear over his head, before... Seemingly stabbing the air. However, to Akuma's surprise, purple shards of the crystal at the tip of the Spear suddenly shot straight at him. Allowing his sharp reflexes to assist him, Akuma's knees folded, sliding forward as the projectiles flew over him.

Having narrowly avoided injury, the Demon jumped up, practically stabbing his feet down into the ground... But, to his misfortune, the purple crystal of the Spear dug straight through his clothing and muscle, mercilessly stabbing him in the gut. The martial artist spat out blood as his feet were swept off the ground by the spear's momentum - as he observed, the weapon extended in length, allowing Kratos to attack his opponent from a safe distance. The spear kept going, pulling the Demon along with it and sending him into and through the fire. Akuma felt his skin heating up briefly before a sudden impact, accompanied by the air around him cooling down, allowed him to regain full control over his movements. Seeing as the Spear retracts back to normal length, the Master of the Fist turned his head around, inspecting the object that his back struck against - a tree, now with an Akuma-shaped scar on its trunk.

His eyes quickly traveled into the sky as his ears picked up a roar - but not just a mere roar. It was like a cry of thunder, still ringing in Akuma's thoughts moments after. He watched as wings dark as shadows sprouted out of Kratos' back in the middle of his leap. In his hands appeared a bow, which he aimed straight at the Street Fighter. Quickly firing a Gohadoken, the Demon quickly turned the other way to conceal himself in the forest.

Kratos took aim with Apollo's Bow, focusing on the oncoming purple ball of energy. In a mere moment, the arrow currently drawn started emitting flames and soon completely caught on fire. As Kratos felt his fingers burning, he let go, allowing the fiery projectile to be ejected at speeds higher than a normal human eye could react to. Less than a second afterward, the two forces met - the flames on the arrow and the Gohadoken's energy slightly nudged each other before...

BOOM!

Wasting no time, Kratos dashed through the smoke that appeared in the place of the two projectiles. Flying into the forest, the Spartan looked around, attempting to find his opponent. "Woah!" He let out, narrowly avoiding another Gohadoken by rolling to the side. Following the purple trail, the Fallen God soon noticed a single figure between the trees. Scoffing at the pathetic attempt to hide, Kratos swiftly dodged another purple projectile before pulling his bow. In a matter of seconds, the Spartan's arms moved fast enough to catch on fire due to the air friction, arrows firing from Apollo's weapon at machinegun speeds. Blazing arrows and balls of energy passed each other, rushing either downward or upward. Both fighters did their best to evade damage while dishing out their own.

"Gah! ENOUGH!" Kratos yelled, a clearly oversized hammer appearing in his hands, its head three times the size of his own, the spikes on its tip appearing sharp enough to cut through human flesh like butter. In a blink of an eye, he dashed down, straight towards Akuma. The Street Fighter, noticing this, ceased his assault and watched as his opponent skillfully managed to hit every Gohadoken in his way, sending it back to sender like a baseball batter. Akuma, leaping and jumping around the trees, felt as explosions grazed against his skin as he himself was unharmed. After a few seconds of grunting and dodging... Akuma's faced kissed the Barbarian Hammer.

Kratos' shout echoed throughout the forest as his muscular arms pushed forward, suddenly sending Akuma flying at speeds comparable to being shot out of a cannon. His body was thrown through a tree, cutting the trunk in half and forcing its top onto the ground. Akuma landed on his feet, brushing off the attack. "No amount of tricks shall save you, Spartan!" He exclaimed, pointing at the Fallen God. Kratos, completely ignoring the threat, leaped into the air, lifting the giant mallet over his head. The Demon, however, prepared himself, a Gohadoken already appearing between his palms. As the God swung down, Akuma aimed up, releasing the blast of ki. The face of the Hammer and the purple beam met mid-air, clashing with neither having a clear advantage.

The Cursed Mortal let out a roar, shaking his very own vocal cords in an attempt to scare his foe. Unfazed, Akuma knew that he cannot allow himself to waste his ki like this. He spread out his hands, ceasing the launch of the energy beam, before diving forward and leaving his foe to attempt to overpower the remains of the Gohadoken beam. He leaped into the air, performing a somersault to cover more distance, as Kratos' scream became louder than before, the Barbarian Hammer being slammed into the ground. To say that a crater was made would be an understatement - the blow created a pit in the ground, twice as wide as Kratos is tall and four times as deep. The Street Fighter took a step forward, raising his arms to prepare for any oncoming blows.

To his surprise, however, it was not Kratos who revealed himself. Instead, five blue Souls escaped the Hammer, squeezing swords in their undead hands - all of their eyes locked on Akuma. Surprised, the Demon's eyes widened for a second, but his hands formed into fists at a moment's notice. Immediately, he fired a Gohadoken, the Cursed Souls swiftly dodging the projectile, surrounding it in a circle-like pattern. The blast ultimately missed and Akuma's chest was suddenly pierced by three sharp swords of Hades' monsters. Akuma coughed blood as he was lifted into the air by the weapons' owners, the other two demons flying away. Akuma looked down, aiming to destroy the spirits with his bare hands... Only to find out that he was left mid-air, the Souls gone completely.

The Master of the Fist looked around, trying to locate the hostiles, but it was too late. One by one, the Lost Souls cut through Akuma's clothing and flesh, pain rushing through every inch of his body. Before the warrior could gather himself, all five Spirits rushed at him simultaneously. The martial artist felt five razor-sharp weapons slicing him at the exact same second. He roared in pain as blood erupted from his wounds, but he shook the assault off quickly, focusing on the closest Soul.

"Gohadoken!" He shouted, quickly firing a blast in the direction of the undead creature. The monster roared, revealing its yellow teeth before its face was hit with the ball of ki, making the beast fall apart into dust. With only four enemies left, Akuma, still in the air, charged up just a tiny bit longer than usual, releasing a golden blast instead of the original purple. He launched the Shakunetsu Hadoken, its fiery core leaving behind a trail of flames. It was aimed at two of the Souls, but one flew to the side just in time as its sibling was blown to bits by the technique. The Master of the Fist finally landed on the ground, noticing the remaining three Souls flying straight at him. Knowing exactly what to do, the Demon scoffed as he swung his arm upwards, before immediately pulling it back down.

Around him, a red aura formed, his ki focusing on enhancing this powerful attack. Just barely before Hades' warriors could strike Akuma, his palm smashed into the ground. The ground shook, but before the Demons could stop and process the information, they felt a horrid impact. Like a lightning strike, something hit where Akuma was standing, a loud noise accompanying the sudden light. As they covered their eyes to protect from the flash, a barrier of pure ki formed around Akuma.

"Kongou... Kokuretsuzan!" As the shout escaped the Demon's throat, the Spirits were immediately incinerated by the blast, not having even a moment to react and dodge. In a mere moment, the three monsters were erased from existence. The Demon took a deep breath, allowing his muscles to rest for a moment from the strain, closing his eyes.

CRACK!

His eyes shot open, now seeing a giant crack originating from where his palm now rested. He removed his hand from the ground and stood up, returning to his combat stance. It didn't take long for him to hear a grunt coming from the hole in front of him - not even a second after the noise reached his ears, a familiar white figure leaped out - in his hands, a metallic face with blue, spectral pieces forming the shape of a bow - Typhon's Bane. Akuma leaped back, trying to dodge the Spartan's next shot. But, to his surprise, he was not the target. Instead, Kratos fired what appears to be a gust of wind at the ground, dust spreading out from the impact. At first, nothing happened - that was before wind started gathering around the original spot where the projectile hit. Akuma, however, was ultimately unfazed as a hurricane formed out of nothing and charged in his direction.

When he was practically absorbed by the hurricane, one of his feet raised into the air and the other folded - he used the opponent's attack to his advantage. Kratos landed and observed as the hurricane grew and the Demon inside spun around alongside it, performing his infamous Hurricane Kick. The Greek warrior's eyes widened as he realized that his own technique was turned against him and was now coming straight at him. He stood his ground as the wind attempted to pull him in, digging his feet into the ground. He pulled back Typhon's Bane again, setting his goal as destroying the hurricane. However, it was too late for him to notice the oncoming spinning Akuma, still within the tornado - hit cheek suddenly met the Demon's heel. The Cursed Mortal could feel as something broke on the side of his face, sending blood spilling both out of the newly-formed wound and his mouth. He was sent flying, spinning mid-air before hitting the ground with a loud THUMP!

Akuma, on the other hand, forced himself down, punching the ground and creating a massive shockwave, successfully getting rid of the hurricane. He stood straight, cracking his neck and observing his opponent as he did the same. "Tell me, Kratos..." He began, curious. "Why have you come here?" He finally asked. The two started walking in a circular pattern, eyeing each other trying to predict the other's moves. Kratos responded as Typhon's Bane suddenly vanished from his hands.

"The answer is simple, Demon. To do what I do best." Before the Street Fighter's own eyes, a pair of gauntlets appeared on the Spartan's arms - its tips shaped like lion heads. "Vengeance and violence, Akuma, is something you should understand perfectly well." He continued, pointing one of this Nemean Cestus at his opponents.

"You would be correct..." Akuma muttered, his foot sliding slightly towards Kratos. "However, it is surely not the only reason you are here." He kept talking. "The gods, Kami, ordered you to do so, did they not?" Kratos gave no response. "Those pitiful and pathetic beings... Corrupted by human weaknesses... Do you know why I became like this, Spartan?" Akuma asked a rather rhetorical question. "It is because I wanted to rid myself of the weak human body that I originally possessed. I wanted to get rid of the pathetic burden that is humanity!" He shouted. "Warrior... Do you know why you became who you are now?"

Kratos' thoughts rushed through his brain at speeds surprising even him. Before he answered, he let out a grunt of discomfort. "I've made a mistake, Demon. A mistake I regret. I became what I am because of selfishness and I paid the price." He looked down onto the ground as memories appeared in front of his eyes. "I dreamt of becoming more powerful, but I never realized the horror of it before it was too late." His Spartan wife and child felt like they were there... Right next to him. He brushed off the thought as Akuma let out a sigh full of curiosity.

"We are more similar than you think! We are... Inhuman." He muttered. In response, however, Kratos shook his head.

"No, Akuma. We are not. You use your strength for your own selfish needs. You did it willingly. I regret surviving that night, that battle. I regret allowing Ares into my life!" His calm voice changed into a roar nigh-instantly. "I still retain remnants of my humanity! You gave yourself in to the dark source of your strength! But I will show you that even then you are more pathetic than those you claim to be weak! Today, Akuma, YOU DIE!"

Kratos charged at the Street Fighter, pulling back his arms, swinging the Nemean Cestus and aiming for a blow. Akuma raised his arm, attempting to block the oncoming strike. He succeeded, but was met with horrid pain in his forearm and was sent sliding back across the ground. "Yes... Good..." He muttered. "Show me, Kratos! Show me the strength of a Spartan! Show me the strength of the one you call Ares!"

"PROVE THAT YOU ARE A WARRIOR!"

Before Akuma even finished his sentence, the Greek demi-god slammed his fists into the ground, the shockwave staggering Akuma. His strength, however, allowed him to stay on his feet. Dust arose around the impact zone, making the Street Fighter lose sight of his opponent. As he tried to look through the cloud, a lion head suddenly leaped out of it, digging its teeth into the ground. A loud grunt was heard as Kratos pulled on the chain that the lion head was attached to - in the next second, the Demon saw his foe practically flying, aiming his second fist at Gouki. As soon as he realized an attack was coming, the Raging Demon put up both of his forearms, covering his face. Luckily for him, the Nemean Cestus struck directly into them and sending Akuma sliding back.

Stopping himself forcefully, the Japanese warrior slid his foot towards his foe, pulling his arms back as purple ki formed between them. "Gohadoken!" Akuma yelled. Kratos, familiar with the attack, got simply tired of dodging. While running straight at the Demon, he raised his right arm, the Golden Fleece shining in the moonlight. He observed as the purple ball came closer and closer with every moment, until finally...It bounced right off.

"What?!" Akuma uttered in surprise, his Gohadoken being chucked aside like nothing. It struck a nearby tree instead, bringing it down to the ground. The Spartan, however, continued his charge. Barely 2 meters in front of his target, the warrior threw a punch, the heavy gauntlet on his arm reflecting its power. He pulled his fist forward, aiming straight for the Street Fighter's face. His eyes opened in shock as Akuma barely avoided the attack, grabbing his arm and pulling it down. Before he could counter-attack, the former God felt as air escaped his lungs through his gritted teeth, as his chest landed on Gouki's knee. Akuma raised his palm and struck the White Warrior's spine, pushing him to the ground as he released a pained grunt.

The Master of Satsui No Hado, not yet done with his combo, raised his leg, prepared to stop down onto the, quite literally, Fallen God. Kratos, in the moment he saw the move, knew he had to escape this trap. Giving him no time to react, Akuma's foot stormed down onto the Ghost of Sparta's back... However, to his surprise, no scream escaped his mouth. It took Akuma a moment to realize that the Kratos he stomped on was entirely covered in a strange black substance. Looking around, he stopped the real one, not so far away, squeezing something in one of his hands, one Nemean Cestus still on his arm. The orange stone brought some of the Spartan's memories back and he held it close to him, remembering an old friend, the one this very artifact belonged to - Orkos. His eyes went back to observing Akuma, who, somewhat impressed by Kratos' showings, returned to his combat stance. Answering the opponent's silent call, the second Nemean Cestus replaced Orkos' Oath Stone in the White Warrior's hand.

With no hesitation, both fighters charged at the other. Both roared as they sent a fist forward, aimed at the chin of the opponent. Their strikes collided, meeting mid-air. This caused a shockwave, affecting the trees around the two, causing a horizontal line across every one of them close enough to the source. Their fists kept flying, each swing targeting a slightly different area. The other fighter met the attacker's own fist each time, a blast of pressured wind being launched from the spot of the clash. Their arms were nothing more than blurs, moving at speeds far exceeding even lightning. Soon, their limbs caught on fire from the sheer speed of the punches, but the heat didn't bother the warriors whatsoever.

Kratos, in an attempt to stop the struggle, swung his arm upwards, aiming an uppercut for Akuma's chin. Akuma acted accordingly, jumping back and avoiding the strike. Taking a step forward to return to his current position, the two aimed at each other's knuckles yet again. In this moment, the Demon too got tired of this unending power struggle. He took a step back, charging power into his fist. Deciding to make use of this opening, the two gauntlets of Hercules vanished from the Spartan's hands, and in their place, a single, giant fist with the face of Zeus appeared on Kratos' right arm. The demi-god pulled back his arm, lightning circling around the arm, traveling down the wrist and onto the fist.

The two yelled once again as both of them shot their arms forward at virtually the same moment. Black energy followed the Street Fighter's fist, while lightning coated Kratos' Gauntlet of Zeus. To the disappointment of both of them, their fists clashed one final time. As lightning and ki met, the very laws of physics slightly bent, as something akin to a filter appeared over the two combatant's fists, distorting the reality around them. The trees that were previously only damaged by the clash now were launched into the air, its trunks not strong enough to hold their own.

The combatants kept their position for a moment... Just above Kratos, a flame appeared out of thin air. With every passing fraction of a second, it grew larger and larger. Soon, the flame turned into a human-like being, its legs non-existent and large, muscular arms spawning out of its enormous torso. Its hair was nothing more than an inferno, the expression on its face locked in eternal fury. The Efreet roared, menacingly standing over the two combatants before pulling back its arm, preparing for a punch. Akuma, seeing this, lifted one of his legs upwards and slid across the ground, disappearing in the blink of an eye. The Arabian Djinn failed to notice this move in time and his fist hit the ground in the spot where his target was just a moment ago. As it lifted its hand off of the ground, the ground lit up and the Djinn itself vanished. In its place, Kratos leaped towards Akuma, his Blades of Exile returning to his hands. The Ice of Poseidon found itself enhancing the weapons.

Just in time, the Street Fighter jumped back, performing a backward flip mid-air. This, however, only gave the Spartan another chance to hit his opponent. Before the Demon's feet even touched the ground, the demi-god's weapons slammed into the soil, a blue, magical substance spawning in a line in front of him. Nigh-instantly, navy-blue spikes colder than Winter itself, catching Akuma completely off-guard. His eyes shot open as he quickly-

SHINK!

Music Stop

Akuma suddenly found it difficult to breathe. as blood dripped from his mouth, he looked down, only to see an icy spike stabbed straight through his chest. Blood rained like a waterfall down his outfit from the wound from both sides of his body, as he discovered, due to the sheer pain, that the spike penetrated his body. Crimson liquid formed a miniature river, flowing down the blue spear. Kratos, proud of his work, slowly walked towards Akuma, a grim and confident expression on his face. "It is over." He uttered. The Master of the Fist, although feeling his strength fading away, still managed to speak.

"No, Kratos... Not yet." He replied.

Death Battle | Akuma vs Kratos, Part 2To the Spartan's surprise, the Street Fighter started grunting, clearly struggling. This grunt soon turned into a shout - a vicious roar, similar to a hungry lion. Akuma felt his power returning to him as ki started slowly enhancing his body. Kratos, not willing to find out what would happen if this process is completed, rushed at the half-dead opponent, a war cry escaping his mouth. Gouki's appearance started to change as blood-red energy began focusing on his shoulders and fists. Before the Spartan could reach him, the icy spike was suddenly shattered.
The Greek warrior was pushed back by the impact, throwing him off of his feet. As he quickly jumped back onto his feet, he couldn't believe his own eyes as his opponent, inspecting his fists, walked towards him. His appearance, however, was slightly different. His hair turned white, similar to Kratos' own body. His skin was red, almost more so than his own blood, still dripping down his chest. The wound, normally deadly, disappeared fr
